She was the daughter of the late William Nesbitt (1911-1970) and Ina M. Nesbitt nee Travis (1918-2010). She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Howard R. Bartholomew of Middleburgh, N.Y., her son Dr. Alexander J. Bartholomew and his fiancé Dr. Amy D. Forestell of New Paltz, N.Y., and her sister Dr. Nancy N. Sherrie was Assistant Dean of Women at S.U.N.Y. Cobleskill from 1966-1974, and from 1978-2004 taught Home Economics at Duanesburg Jr./Sr. High School in Delanson, N.Y.

Very active in community affairs, Sherrie was at the time of her death President of Dam Concerned Citizens, Inc., the citizen advocacy group for the Gilboa Dam and Schoharie Reservoir. An avid conservationist, Sherrie was a certified fly casting instructor, having taken courses in the sport from the Wolff School of Fly Fishing in Lew Beach, N.Y., and enjoyed frequent fishing trips with her family.

Sherrie and her family wish to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at Ellis Hospital, Home Care of Rochester, and the Catskill Area Hospice for their outstanding compassion and professional skills during her brief, but intense illness.
