Carlisle- Samuel F. Cootware, 13, of Evergreen Road, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.

Sammy was born on December 27, 2000 in Albany and is the son of Shawn and Barbara Moore-Cootware.

For the past several years, Sam attended The Langan School at Center for Disability Services in Albany.

Family brought the most joy to Sammy's life, and he in turn stole their hearts and together they made many memories, which they now all share. He loved his dog, Zena, and took pleasure in being outdoors, camping, swimming, and family times on the boat.

Along with his parents, Shawn and Barbara, he is survived by his paternal grandmother: Carol Cootware of Clarksville; maternal grandparents: Kenneth and Harriet Moore of Cobleskill; paternal great-parents: Clayton and Marjorie Cootware of Feura Bush and Vida Dittino of Glenmont; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Michael Cootware, who died in 2011.

A celebration of Sammy's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will take place from noon until 2PM.
