Blenheim- David H. Ovitt, Sr., 56, of State Route 30, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at his residence.

Born July 1, 1956 in Corinth, he was the son of Donald H. Ovitt, Sr. and Marjorie (Deloreia) Millington.

David and his wife moved from Corinth in 2012 to reside in North Blenheim. He was employed at White Birch Nursery in Schenectady, and prior to that, at T and P Landscaping in Rotterdam.

David enjoyed fishing, boating and camping, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. He was a proud sponsor of his grandson's motocross dirt bike.

Survivors include his wife, Tammie (Williams) Ovitt, whom he married May 18, 2002; four daughters: Jamie (Sean) Allen of Schenectady, Hope Ovitt of High Point, NC, Tabetha Ovitt of Saratoga, and Nichole (Kristy Wood) Crandall of Schenectady; five sons: William St. Pierre of Diberville, MS, Jeremy (Kelly) Crandall of Schoharie, David H. (Samantha) Ovitt, Jr. of Schenectady, Paul (Tia) Ovitt of Moradian Falls, NC, and David (Laura) Barton of Hadley; twenty-four grandchildren; eight siblings: Gertrude Galusha, Donald Ovitt, Elaine Ovitt, Brenda (Raymond) Hill, Teresa (Patrick) O'Connell, Tammy (Jeff) Millington, Deborah Millington, and Jody Clearwater; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and his parents-in-laws: Floyd and Maureen Williams of Middleburgh.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery, Blenheim. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM, Monday, prior to the service.
