We have lost many members of the Class of '63. It is always an impact when one of us passes away; we are too young for that already. We just saw Choo Choo at our golden anniversary and I asked him where his nickname came from; I never knew. I expected to see him at number 55, but he will be there in spirit!

At times like tis, memories abound and when I think of Choo, they are all good memories. Choo was a friend since first grade, back in 1948, to this day. Fun and laughter followed him where ever he went. He knew how to enjoy life and make everybody comfortable. I regret that I cannot be with the family at the service but want you to know that I am sorry to hear of his passing - he was a keeper.

I have known Choo since 1970 and have considered him to be a friend since then. He was a good man and will be sorely missed by many.

My very sincere condolences go out to all the Hayes family on the loss of your brother, father, grandfather and friend. I didn't know Choo long, but found him to be, as others have said, a kind and friendly man. Only a few short days or weeks ago, he was fishing in the pond across from my house. That's how I will remember him. I hope happy memories will sustain you while you are grieving his loss.
